RPRA Privacy statement
No doubt you have heard by now about the new General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), that comes into effect May 25, 2018, and I expect you are being bombarded by companies and organisations asking you to confirm your consent to remain on their mailing lists.
The Repton Park Residents Association also holds your email and address details. We have this because you registered your membership of the RPRA on the web site, you responded to a leaflet drop or possibly by attending an RPRA event or AGM where you shared your details with us.
The RPRA will only send you information applicable to you as an owner of a property on Repton Park, such as notifications of meetings and events. We also maintain a database of “members” of the RPRA in order to ratify our position as the recognised residents association in collaboration with the management company First Port. (As discussed at the recent AGM, a Residents Association needs a minimum of 50% representation of owners in order to be officially recognised by a management company).
RPRA has identified that it has a legal basis for collecting and processing your data to fulfil services provided by contract, i.e. RPRA provides a number of services to its members. This is a lawful process as defined by GDPR article 6(1)(b).
To help comply with GDPR consent requirements, we have updated our privacy statement on the RPRA web site which you can also read here.
